Monika Menz
was admitted to the bar in 2007 and has been a certified specialist lawyer for information technology law since 2011. She is a Certified Privacy Professional of IAPP (CIPP/E). Before joining Vossius und Partner, Ms. Menz worked for an international law firm and a legal law firm of one of the big accountancy and consultancy firms.

Ms. Menz has many years of practical experience in advising clients on data protection law. This includes in particular advising her clients from start-ups to international corporations on the implementation of data protection requirements in the company. Ms Menz accompanies and advises clients on projects for the implementation of the General EU Data Protection Regulation.

A further focus of Ms. Menz's work advises on the contractual framework in the process of creating software and on licensing of software as well as judicial and extra-judicial enforcement in the field of software copyright law.

Monika Menz is a lecturer in IT law at the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering at the University of Potsdam and a lecturer in Practical Data Governance, Data Security, and Regulatory Compliance at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Ms. Menz regularly gives speeches on data protection law and IT law in Germany and abroad. She publishes regularly in professional journals and is co-author of the commentary on energy law (“Energiewirtschaftsrecht”, Erich Schmidt Verlag).

Monika Menz studied at the Westfalian Wilhelms University of Münster and the Université René Descartes in Paris and took part in the French programme of the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia during her legal clerkship.

Monika Menz is a member of the Berlin Bar Association, the Information Technology Law Working Group of the German Lawyers' Association (DAVIT), the German Society for Law and Information Technology (DGRI), the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the German Society for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR).

Ms. Menz speaks German, English and French.
