born in Johannesburg/South Africa, studied chemistry at the University of Frankfurt am Main. During his dissertation at the University Oldenburg he studied catalytically active main group compounds and computational chemistry. His research interests shifted to applications of siloxane-based materials during his postdoctoral stay at The Open University (Milton Keynes, UK). At the University of Frankfurt, he explored applications of relativistic density functional methods. After that, he worked in the London Office of one of the leading Intellectual Property (IP) management and technology companies as a Patent Analyst.
