joined VOSSIUS & PARTNER in 2010 and was admitted to practice as European Patent Attorney and German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt) in 2014. His training in IP included stages at the Federal Patent Court and the Lower District Court Munich as well as a secondment to a renowned London law firm. He became a partner in the firm in 2017.
Dr. Hoecherl has profound experience in all areas of patent law. His work focuses on prosecution, opposition and revocation proceedings before the European Patent Office, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court. His practice also includes the preparation of freedom-to-operate and validity opinions, and he is closely involved in infringement and revocation proceedings in various European and non-European jurisdictions.
His clients include both small and medium-sized companies and research institutions as well as leading global companies, in particular in the pharmaceutical and chemical field.
Dr. Hoecherl studied Pharmacy at the University of Regensburg with an emphasis on medicinal chemistry. He obtained his Ph.D. in the field of chemotherapy, where his research focused on bio-analytical methods and the detection of brain tumors via in-vivo-imaging. Dr. Hoecherl also gained first-hand experiences in the production of sterile drugs in the headquarters of a globally leading healthcare company in Basel (Switzerland).
