was admitted to practice as a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt) in 2008 and as a European Patent Attorney in 2009. He joined the firm of VOSSIUS & PARTNER in 2016.
Dr. Meier studied physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and the University of Oxford, specializing in quantum optics and theoretical solid state physics. His doctoral thesis, prepared at the University of Basel from 2000 to 2003, was related to the fields of nanoscale magnetic systems and quantum information processing. Before starting a career in intellectual property law, Dr. Meier worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California Santa Barbara and the California NanoSystems Institute. He received various awards for his academic work, including the Swiss Physical Society award in the category General Physics in 2004 and a scholarship of the Maximilianeum Foundation. Dr. Meier holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree.
