born in 1986 in Cologne, studied biochemistry at the TU Darmstadt and University of Frankfurt am Main, where he graduated in 2008 in the field of membrane biophysics and solid-state NMR. He then started to work on his doctorate at the Institut de chimie des substances naturelles (ICSN) in Gif-sur-Yvette, France, where he investigated the mechanism of multi-drug resistance by ABC transporters. In addition, he performed structural studies of prions by solid-state NMR.
In 2012, Dr. Marchand joined Vossius & Partner at the Munich office. After completion of his traineeship, he was admitted to practice as a German patent attorney in 2016. At the beginning of 2017, he transferred to our office in Basel, Switzerland, where he focuses on advising on IP strategy and portfolio management. He currently works on his doctoral degree in law at the University of Basel where he investigates the applicability of copyright law in biotechnology.
In addition, he has been accredited with the Swiss government as an Innosuisse Special Coach for IP.
Dr. Marchand is fluent in German, French and English. In addition, he learns Japanese.
