"Ich bin ein Berliner" (J. F. Kennedy)
Our office in Berlin was established in January 2007. By choosing Berlin, the capital of Germany and at the same time a gateway to the East and West, Vossius & Partner is now located in the geographical centre of fast growing Europe. The political and cultural developments of the 19th and 20th century are reflected in the historical “Wilhelminic” and the contemporary cutting edge architecture found throughout Berlin’s cityscape. The Federal Chancellery, the seat of the German Government, as well as the German Parliament are literally only minutes away from our firm’s site. A large number of globally active companies as well as numerous trade associations have their headquarters in Berlin. Both the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office have offices here.
The city has been regarded as a city of knowledge and culture since the days of Frederic the Great in the 18th century. Today, no other region in Europe has a higher concentration of scientific, academic and research facilities than Berlin. Berlin is investing about 1.8 billion € in science, academics and research annually. The Charité University Hospital, for example, affiliated to both the Free University and the Humboldt University, is Europe's largest medical school. Moreover, Berlin is close to the prospering scientific and economic centres of Eastern Germany such as Dresden, Leipzig, Weimar and Jena.
VOSSIUS & PARTNER, Berlin, provides services over the whole range of intellectual property, especially in patent law, in all technical fields, in examination, opposition and nullity proceedings as well as in patent infringement proceedings, but also in trademark, design and competition law. The technical fields include physics, telecommunication, pharmaceutical and classical chemistry, biotechnology and molecular biology.
The Berlin office is headed by Dr. Christian Kilger, German Patent Attorney as well as European Patent Attorney and European Trademark & Design Attorney. Dr. Kilger has acquired a long-standing professional experience.
